What Frankenskates is—and isn't
Unless a listing explicitly identifies Frankenskates as the seller, Frankenskates is not the seller, buyer, payment processor, shipper, inspector, event organizer, instructor, or guarantor. Community members and outside sellers are responsible for their own listings, transactions, gear, services, events, and conduct.
Posting rules
Only post something you own or are authorized to offer or promote. Describe it accurately. Disclose known damage, modifications, missing parts, sizing issues, safety concerns, and other material facts. Do not post stolen or counterfeit goods, scams, deceptive offers, illegal items, harassment, spam, or content that violates another person's rights.
Used skate equipment
Used equipment can fail. Frankenskates does not inspect or certify community gear. Buyers should inspect boots, plates/frames, trucks, axles, wheels, bearings, toe stops/plugs, fasteners, mounting hardware, protective equipment, and modifications before use. If condition or compatibility is uncertain, have the equipment evaluated by a qualified skate shop or technician before skating it.
Payments, shipping & meetups
Frankenskates does not guarantee payment, delivery, refunds, identity, or item condition. Use payment methods with appropriate protections, keep transaction records, and be cautious about unusual payment requests. For local exchanges, meet in a public place, protect your home address and other private information, tell someone where you are going, and leave if the situation feels unsafe.
Events, lessons & announcements
Event organizers, rinks, instructors, and posters are responsible for their own activities and claims. A listing appearing in the Exchange is not certification, licensing, endorsement, or a guarantee of safety by Frankenskates. Verify schedules, admission, age rules, qualifications, venue requirements, and other important details directly with the organizer.
Dealer Finds, Maker Finds & outside listings
Outside finds point to third-party sellers or websites. Prices, availability, descriptions, images, shipping, returns, and other terms belong to the original source and may change. Frankenskates does not possess or fulfill those items unless a listing explicitly says Frankenskates is the seller.
Reporting & enforcement
Use Report Listing when you see suspected fraud, stolen or counterfeit goods, unsafe or dangerously misrepresented equipment, harassment, prohibited items, misleading information, or spam. Frankenskates may review, hide, reject, remove, or preserve listings and may restrict accounts when reasonably necessary to protect the community or comply with law.
Emergencies
Reporting something to Frankenskates is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger or a crime is occurring, contact the appropriate emergency service or law-enforcement agency.
Your responsibility
Use your own judgment before buying, selling, trading, attending, teaching, meeting, or skating. Participation carries ordinary risks that Frankenskates cannot eliminate. Nothing on this page replaces professional legal, financial, medical, or equipment-safety advice.
